1. The short version

  • We collect what you send us and what we need to do the work and get paid for it.
  • ethoic.com runs no analytics or ad tracking, loads nothing from other companies and sets no cookies of its own.
  • We don’t sell your information or use it for advertising.
  • Stripe handles payments. We never see your full card or bank account number.
  • To see, correct or delete what we have about you, email hello@ethoic.com.

2. Who we are and what this covers

Ethoic Inc is a Tennessee corporation at 313 Ebenezer Rd, Knoxville, TN 37923. “Ethoic,” “we” and “us” mean Ethoic Inc.

This policy covers ethoic.com, email and meetings with us, our consulting work, and payments made to Ethoic Inc for consulting or software.

Some Ethoic products have their own websites and privacy policies, which cover what happens inside those products: Stratumus and CivicFormat. If you pay Ethoic Inc for one of them, this policy covers the billing.

The stay_human shop runs on Fourthwall. Fourthwall handles its checkout, payment and shipping under its own privacy policy. Fourthwall shows us the order details it gives shop owners, such as your name and shipping address, and we use them only to help with your order.

3. What we collect

When you send an inquiry form

The consulting form asks for your name, business and email, and if you choose, your phone number. It also asks your industry, what happens to new calls and requests, about how many calls, forms and emails you get each week, and how you heard about us.

The website form asks for your name, business and email, and if you choose, your phone number, your current website and how you heard about us. It also asks what you need and what the site should help people do.

Your answers come to us as an email to hello@ethoic.com. The website doesn’t store them. If you pick an industry we can’t serve right now on the consulting form, your answers aren’t emailed or kept. The consulting page’s leak calculator runs only in your browser, and nothing you type into it is sent to us.

When you email, call or meet with us

Your name, contact details and whatever you choose to tell us.

When you hire us or buy from us

Your business name; the billing contact’s name, email, phone and billing address; what you bought; your signed scope of work; and your invoices, payments and refunds.

You enter card or bank details on Stripe’s payment pages, and Stripe keeps them. We see only limited details, such as the card brand and last four digits, or the bank name and the account’s last four digits, and whether a payment went through.

While we do consulting work

Some work needs access to your business’s systems, such as your website, forms, domain and email settings. We work in accounts you own, with access you grant and can remove at any time, and we look only at what the scope of work needs. We don’t keep copies of your customers’ records unless your scope of work says we will. Files you choose to send us, such as screenshots or documents, are kept with your project records.

From other sources

We look up business contact details that businesses publish themselves, for example on their websites, Google Business Profiles or LinkedIn, to find businesses we might help. We also receive contact details from people who introduce you to us.

When you visit ethoic.com

Cloudflare, which hosts the site, receives the usual details any website gets with each request: your IP address, browser type, the page you asked for and the time. They’re used to deliver pages and protect the site from abuse. When you send a form, your IP address is also used to limit how many forms one address can send in a minute.

We don’t run analytics, advertising pixels or social media trackers on ethoic.com. Its fonts, images and scripts all come from ethoic.com itself.

4. Cookies and browser storage

ethoic.com sets no cookies of its own. It keeps three small notes in your browser, and they never leave your device:

  • ethoic-motion (local storage) remembers whether you turned decorative motion off.
  • ethoic-intro and stay-human-intro (session storage) remember that an opening animation already played, until you close the tab.

You can clear them in your browser’s settings at any time. If Cloudflare’s security checks challenge a visit they suspect is automated, Cloudflare may set a security cookie to remember that the check was passed.

Stripe’s payment pages and the Fourthwall shop are on their own sites and use their own cookies, which their policies describe.

Because ethoic.com doesn’t track visitors across websites, browser Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control signals don’t change anything here.

5. How we use it

  • To reply to you and talk with you about your business.
  • To scope, do and support the work you hire us for.
  • To provide software you subscribe to, including your account, support and billing.
  • To send invoices, receipts and payment reminders, and to keep accounting and tax records.
  • To keep track of who we’ve been in touch with, and when.
  • To find businesses we might help and contact them about our services.
  • To protect the site, our accounts and our customers from spam, fraud and abuse.
  • To meet our legal obligations.

We use AI assistants to help with this work, and a person reviews what they produce before it goes to you or your customers.

We don’t sell personal information, share it for targeted advertising, or add you to a mailing list without asking.

We also share billing and tax records with our accountant. We may disclose information when the law requires it, to protect our rights or someone’s safety, or as part of a sale or merger of our business.

7. How long we keep it

We keep inquiries and conversation records while we’re in touch with you and while they’re useful to our working relationship, and we delete them when you ask unless we need to keep them. We keep invoices, payment and tax records for as long as tax and accounting rules require. Our providers keep their own logs on their own schedules.

8. Your choices

  • See, correct or delete. Email hello@ethoic.com and tell us what you’d like. We’ll tell you what we changed or deleted. We may need to keep some records, such as invoices, that the law requires us to keep.
  • Email. We don’t add anyone to a marketing list without asking. We may write to a business directly about our services. Reply asking us to stop, or email hello@ethoic.com, and we won’t contact you that way again.
  • Browser storage. Clear it in your browser’s settings, or turn motion off with the button in the footer.

Depending on where you live, your state’s law may give you other rights over your information. Email us to use them, and we won’t treat you differently for asking. We don’t sell personal information, including as Nevada law defines a sale, and Nevada residents can send requests to the same address.

9. Security

Our main accounts, including Stripe, Cloudflare and GitHub, require two-step sign-in. We give each provider only the access its job needs, and in consulting work we use access you grant and can remove. No system is perfectly secure. If a breach affects your information, we’ll tell you as the law requires.

10. Children

ethoic.com and our services are meant for businesses and adults. We don’t knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you think a child has sent us information, email us and we’ll delete it.

11. Where it’s processed

Ethoic Inc is in the United States, and our services are meant for people and businesses here. Our providers may process information in the United States and other countries.

12. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we’ll update this page and its date. If a change matters to how we use your information, we’ll email our clients and subscribers before it takes effect.
